What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses 12 surgical grade needles to create small micro channels in the skin. After application of a topical numbing cream, the microneedling device will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding until the entire treatment area has been covered, ususally the face and/or neck but it can be anywhere. This process results in thousands of superficial microscopic channels throughout the entire area. These tiny injuries to the skin have several purposes. The first is to make small pathways for topical gels, creams and serums to penetrate to the deeper skin layers. This allows us to precisely target the dermis where the problems we are trying to treat are found. The second is, the small injuries caused by the needles have been found to stimulate collagen formation. Collagen is the building block of the skin and this leads to skin tightening and smoothing of wrinkles. It's the one of the most natural ways to maintain your youth and improve skin texture.

What are the Microneedling Benefits?

The tiny microchannels created by the needles gives us direct access to the dermis, we are able to do a great deal of work on the area of the skin that needs it the most!  We can apply topical anti-aging, skin lightening (melasma) and wound healing solutions before, during and after the treatment. Some of our favorites are hyaluronic acid or an Epidermal Growth Factor Mask. The topical products do not get stopped by the epidermis, but directly infiltrate into the dermis where the problems reside. Also, the mechanical stimulation of the dermis itself by the needles, causes remodeling of collagen. This is called collagen induction therapy. Collagen is the building block of skin. Damaged collagen causes aging and scars. Acne scars and wrinkles can now be treated effectively in office with little to no downtime.

Helps with scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.

When will I see Microneedling Results?

The microneedling results may take 2-6 weeks because your skin will need to heal and collagen needs time to grown. It is recommended that microneedling be repeated at 6-8 week intervals until you've reached your best result and then reported 6-12 months for best results.
