Subcision is a minor in-office surgical procedure that's used to treat acne scars. It involves inserting a small needle into your skin to release the acne scar from the underlying tissue. This allows your skin to rise and to diminish the appearance of the acne scar. We pair the subcision with filler to help fill in any deep pitted acne scars.

On average, the subcision acne scar release treatment takes about 10-30 days to recover from. During this time, patients may experience redness, bruising and changes in pigmentation. For this procedure you will need anywhere from 4 to 6 treatments depending on the deepness of the scars.
